American Idol Top 36 : Group One
It was a pretty uneventful night tonight and yet they say they have amazing singers...certainly not in this group. here's the verdict in no particular order.
Alexis Grace
cute blond with pink pieces. I just loved her. She gave a fresh new vibe to the show and her singing was great. "dirty" does good.
Brent Keith
i think the country fans will like this beefy husband, but i didnt connect with the song..and he couldn't dance worth anything.
Jackie Tohn
I hated her over the top personality a little less then her terrible black hot pants/tights and ridiculous top and sneakers. She was a wacko and i was not impressed. Worst of the night.
Stephen Fowler
This big haired black guy was an ok singer to a song a liked. but unfortunately it just wasnt good enough to get in my top 3.
Ann Marie Boskovich
Not bad for this pretty brunette, but totally forgettable. I would not have sung that song...i agree with Kara, she should have sung a more singer songwriter song
Casey Carlson
this brunette broadway clown looked stupid in her gold lame and murdered an already crappy song of "every little thing she does is magic"...what was with the ridiculous wink in the middle of the performance. 2nd worse of the night.
Michael Sarver
this blond stocky guy was not horrible but COMPLETELY forgettable. so much that i never looked up at the tv when he was singing.
Stevie Wright
poor thing. This teen was completely out of her element. worse vocals of the night..im surprised taylor swift would sing something so outright pop.
Anoop Desai
Best of the night. This golden voiced Indian was fantastic in my book. not sure why the judges weren't all praises.
Danny Gokey
the judges loved this Martin Downey Jr lookalike and yahoo news topped him as the best. I agree he was good but again did not hold my attention like Anoop did.
Ricky Braddy
his pants were too tight but I actually really liked this guy. its too bad there were a couple better singer/performers or this guy would be a shoe in..instead i think he's on his way home.
Tatiana Nicole Del Toro
This CRAZY latina toned down her strangeness for a great performance that was slightly out of tune. I was impressed overall though. The judges like her better weird but the demure weird is just as enjoyable in my opinion. i mean its american idol top 36, not american idol the rejects week.
Top 3
1. Anoop
2. Alexis
3. Danny
honorable mention - Tatiana
honorable mention 2 - Ricky and Stephen
the rest..bye bye bye.

Cinderella Time
These are pictures of my old apartment on Denny and 18th, the night I cleaned it all up. Pretty impressive, eh? I bid adieu that night and got ready for my new place 12 blocks away!

Would You Like Coffee With That?
Some people might know this about me (and some do very well!!) but as studious as I am (4.0 three years of Grad School and counting!!!) I actually have a very hard time getting my shit together. As highly organized as I am as a librarian (Librarian Nazi was a term I heard whispered through the hallways during my 5 year reign), I have a hard time staying organized. I am my own oxymoron. The good thing about his is that I can put on a good front that makes it seem like I am very studious and organized and the reality is is that if I am willing and able, I am an extremly studious AND organized person...but it takes work, that's for sure.
Regarding Organization
Whenever I move into a new apartment I always organize as I go so that everything has a place. My newest apartment (I've been in for two years now) is quite small and organization is key. Things that cause me not be organized are:
- Papers, Mail, Things I don't know what to do with, Papers, stuff from work/school...............more Papers
- Dishes...without a dishwasher it is completely out of hand...the refusal to do dishes is something that deeply concerns me...living alone I don't get many guests which is very bad for keeping organized since I let the dishes pile up and pile up...and I am frightened to admit there has been some mold accumulating on it before...ask Shannon although I've sworn her to secrecy so if you ask her she has to say "No Comment". Finally my dishes is more of an issue because I can't wash dishes in my sink because I have no hot water pressure in my sink. So dish washing is a bathtub chore which I find almost as equally gross as the mold situation that happened a couple times.
- Clothes and Shoes. For some reason rather than putting dirty clothes in the hamper I like to throw them around my apartment. And if they have only been worn for a few hours instead of hanging them back up I like to lay them over my piano. Instead of putting shoes away I like to leave them in odd places without their pair. These are strange idiosyncrisis about me...finally since I rarely wash clothes, the hamper that does have clothes is completely piled up.
If I'm not organized these gross things will happen. In order to get organized I have to:
- Make Lists
- Actually Do Them
- Have Music or TV On
- Have Time Because It Takes Hours Me To Organize and Clean
Regarding Studying
And now for being studious. I hate being told do to things...especially college work but sometimes work for teaching as well. I try to put off things for the very last second...in order to give myself an adrenaline rush which actually makes my work a lot more fresh and technically a better job for some reason. However this can't happen when I have multiple assignments or readings. The thing that I have completely learned about myself whole heartedly and the reason I wrote this blog is because:
- I am absolutely posititutely not able to do school work at home. Unless it's writing a paper or play where I need utter silence to work, I must be surrounded by people, coffee, and total movement and noise in order to immerse myself in my work.
I have tried to do it at home...it never happens...there is always twitter, chat rooms, tv, cleaning, messing things up, art projects, dancing around my house to music, talking on the phone, or eating or sleeping to do. As we speak I have more to do than I can even juggle my brain around....which made me want to write this and procrastinate more.
Where Can I Study?
- At Home - NEVER
- The Library - NO
- A Coffee Shop - Always!
- A Book Store - I Doubt It
- A Bar - Gross! Bars are for talking and drinking and dancing and flirting; not studying. I'm not a nerd or a troll!
- Someone Else's House - Sometimes
So...basically if you see me really plugging away and getting a lot accomplished, you might as well ask: "Would you like Coffee with that?"
